|Girl without an earring by Bill Gekas|
I've been meaning to shoot this one for a little while and finally decided to give it a quick shot the other day. Maybe a bit of a cliche thing to do but I think it's good to sometimes try and recreate the lighting and mood of some of the great masterpieces of paintings or photos, it can only improve your understanding and techniques.
This one's inspired by Dutch Master painter Johannes Vermeer with his well known painting Girl With A Pearl Earring. A two light setup and reflector job. The clothing wasn't clothes but just scrap off-cuts of cloth and velour type materials from a fabric store for just a few $'s. Lighting diagram below.
